Tell us a little about your family.<\/strong><\/p>\n I am the firstborn in my family and have two sisters. One sister is two-and-one-half-years younger than me and the youngest one is twelve years younger.\u00a0 I am third generation Apostolic through my mother\u2019s parents.\u00a0 My dad came into church when I about six years old.<\/p>\n What is your salvation story?<\/strong><\/p>\n I was baptized in Jesus\u2019 name when I was ten years old and received the Holy Ghost on Memorial Day when I was twelve.\u00a0 We had been in revival and back in the day we didn\u2019t usually have revival services on Monday night.\u00a0 We had a church picnic earlier that day and everybody was so excited about the revival they decided we needed to have service that evening.\u00a0 Two of my best friends and I received the Holy Ghost that night.<\/p>\n What is your favorite Scripture in the Bible?<\/strong><\/p>\n My favorite Scripture is I Timothy 3:16: \u201cAnd without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.\u201d I think it\u2019s a favorite because that\u2019s one of the first passes of Scriptures\u00a0 my Dad taught me.<\/p>\n What is your music background?<\/strong><\/p>\n I started playing the piano when I was around three years old.\u00a0 Of course, I don\u2019t really remember it, but my parents said I used to sit and watch as someone pumped the pedals on our old upright player piano.\u00a0 They told me that one day I told them I could do that, and I did.\u00a0 I actually don\u2019t remember a time when I couldn\u2019t hear a song and sit down and play it\u2014chords and all.<\/p>\n When I was older I tried to teach others to play and realized that I needed to learn good music terminology and basics in order to communicate with other musicians and teach properly.<\/p>\n What is the story behind your album?<\/strong><\/p>\n I have always wanted to record a piano and organ project and the advent of midi and new recording technology made it easier.\u00a0 I recorded a slower project for prayer and meditation time first, \u201cDown From His Glory,\u201d and am presently in the process of finishing a project with upbeat songs.\u00a0 This project will be called \u201cPam Rentzel Plays Old School Pentecostal Classics!\u201d<\/p>\n What was your favorite part of the \u201calbum making\u201d process?<\/strong><\/p>\n My favorite part of the project was just arranging and playing the songs.\u00a0 I had a ball!<\/p>\n What is your favorite song to play? Why is it a favorite?<\/strong><\/p>\n I really enjoyed playing the song \u201cWhen I Reach that City on the Hill.\u201d\u00a0 I think it\u2019s my favorite (on the new project) because I used to play it for one of my best friends, Donna Jacks, who has now reached that city!\u00a0 On the slower project, \u201cDown From His Glory\u201d was my favorite to play.<\/p>\n What is the best advice you have been given?<\/strong><\/p>\n The best advice I\u2019ve ever had was: \u201cYou\u2019ve got to keep your spirit right!\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 It made such an impression that my friend Deborah Jones and I wrote a song, \u201cKeep My Spirit Right!\u201d which Deborah recorded.<\/p>\n Where can we listen, purchase, and connect with you?<\/strong><\/p>\n My music can be heard on myhoperadio.com\u00a0 and purchased at\u00a0 pentecostalpublishing.com\u00a0 and pentecostalmusicians.com.\u00a0 I also have several songs and a teaching project on YouTube.\u00a0\u00a0 Many of the songs are now available as downloadable singles or on CD.\u00a0 I also have a Facebook group page called \u201cPlay This-Not That!\u201d<\/p>\n Any loves other than music?<\/strong><\/p>\n In addition to music, I love to travel and enjoy cruising, Hopefully we will travel more extensively when my husband retires.<\/p>\n Is there an instrument you wished you knew how to play?<\/strong><\/p>\n I wish I knew how to play the harp!\u00a0 I did play one at the home of a friend, and I think I could if I had more time and opportunity to learn the mechanics of the instrument.<\/p>\n What are five things you can\u2019t live without?<\/strong><\/p>\n I wouldn\u2019t want to live without the Lord, my husband Mark, my church, ice cream, and chocolate!<\/p>\n Who do you want to send a shout out to?<\/strong><\/p>\n A special shout out to my pastor, Ken Dillingham, and his wife, Stephanie, and our \u201cgirls\u201d Audrey and Avary!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Tell us a little about your family.
