Terry Gunn

My Hope Radio: In three or four sentences, how would you describe your journey of faith?

Terry Gunn: I am thankful to be so blessed.  The Lord allowed me to do what I love doing for over thirty-five years!  It has definitely been a journey of faith, but I would do it all over again!

MHR: What is your favorite Scripture in the Bible?

TG: “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” (Psalms 30:5).

MHR:  What is your music background? (Who influenced you, when did you start singing, etc…)

TG: The Doyle Spears Family was an influence when I was very young, but the biggest influence, life changer, tutor, etc, was Lanny Wolfe, Gateway College, 1968.  He helped me get started and I never looked back!!

MHR: What specific themes do you cover in your songs? Why?

TG: My favorite theme to write about and to sing about is simple:  “Every trial that I’ve come through shows me once again what God can do and gives me a reason, another reason to praise the Lord!”   Everything can be either solved or made bearable through praise!

MHR: Do you write your own songs? (If so, discuss your usual songwriting process.)

TG: I wrote most everything we sang.  I like it best when I can get a subject (theme, “hook”) build a chorus that will stand alone, and then add verses to expand on the chorus.  It doesn’t always happen that easily, but when it does, it’s enjoyable.

MHR: Where can we listen, purchase, and connect with you?

TG: www.gunnsinc.com
