My Hope Radio: In three or four sentences, how would you describe your journey of faith?
Christy Huntley Ballestero: My journey of faith is still very much a work in progress. It has been a continual process since the beginning. I am reaching and striving for the goal daily. I started this journey as a child. I am still amazed at His handiwork and completely in love with Jesus Christ!
MHR: What is your favorite Scripture in the Bible?
CHB: Wow, just one?!? Without a doubt, one of my favorites is Acts 17:28;”For in Him we live, and move, and have our being.”
MHR: hat is your music background? (Winfluenced you, when did you start singing, etc…)
CHB: My first influence would have to be my mother. Music has been a huge part of my life since day one. My mother was a singer and musician, choir director, and so on. I really can’t remember a day when my hands were involved to some degree in music. I remember music played through our house constantly. Ok, they were “records”. Now, I’m showing my age. :0) Some of my happiest days were when my dad would return from a preaching trip and bring me a new “record” from PPH or from his travels! Other than my mother, Dedie Cooley came and spent a summer with our church/family when I was about thirteen. She revolutionized my playing at that point. I later went to Bible college and continued my musical studies.
MHR: Do you write your own songs? (If so, discuss your usual songwriting process.)
CB: Yes, I do write my own songs. God has seemed to steer me in the direction of encouragement and trust in the Lord. God uses our own personal experiences through tests and victories to help others. If it can help someone else, than I feel successful.
MHR: Where can we listen, purchase, and connect with you?
CB: You can connect with me on Facebook, email, or my website christyballestero.com. My music is available on the website, iTunes, or you can contact with me directly at [email protected]
