Alisa Cameron

Tell us a little about your family

I’m married to Pastor Randy Cameron we have two sons, Caleb and Joshua.

Describe your spiritual journey.

I grew up in a Baptist church and sang with the gospel choir. At eighteen years of age I was introduced to the Apostolic faith. I had never seen or experienced anything quite like it. At the time I didn’t know how to describe it, I just knew I felt different whenever I visited Parkway Apostolic Church. The electricity, energy, and buzz, which I now know is the anointed presence of God, was undeniable!

What is your favorite Scripture in the Bible?

My favorite Scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

What is your music background?

I really didn’t listen to much music. I began singing around the age of twelve as was the lead singer of our family gospel quartet, “The Jones Sisters,” which ministered locally and out of state. I also joined Parkway’s youth choir, “Youth on a Mission,” and lead three songs on their live recording, “The Marks of a Friend.” In 2008 I recorded “Seasons” which has acquired national airplay (to God be the glory) and I now have a new music CD, “Rainbow after the Storm,” that will inspire encouragement and hope.

What is one of your favorite songs to sing? Why is it your favorite?

My favorite song “How Great Is Our God” because He is great! When I look around and see the beauty of His majesty I’m in awe of His greatness!

Do you write your own songs?

I write songs from life’s experiences. We all have seasons and storms to prove us, but our perspective of God will keep us. The song “Victory” (which is on the Seasons CD) came to me during a period when I was frustrated about the ministry. I sat at the dining room table and began to express my thoughts to the Lord, “I battle with my doubts … question my calling … I know You have a plan … if I could only understand … what Your will is for me … is total victory … victory, victory, is what You will for me.
